BARS Consultants is led by its Director, Garry OLIVER who served over 24 years in the Queensland Police Service reaching the rank of Senior Sergeant. For the last 9 years of his service he coordinated up to 7 agencies specialising in the development and maintenance of harm reduction strategies for licensed premises throughout Queensland.

Garry was the original founder of the Liquor Enforcement and Proactive Strategies (LEAPS) process that forms a part of the Brisbane City 17 Point Safety Action Plan, now implemented state wide, lecturing on these strategies to health and enforcement agencies throughout Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. He was the senior lecturer and co-ordinator for the Justice Department for a Queensland TAFE for over 7 years and now sits on the Executive Board of the Security Providers Association of Australia (SPAAL).

Bouncer Buddy Products provides specialist equipment and stationery supplies for the hospitality and crowd control industries that includes patron counting systems and I.D examination equipment, crowd control incident and staff training registers, I.D confiscation booklets, electronic tally counters, digital (dvr) recorders, Head Cams, Garrett metal detectors, along with patron identification, U.V torches, pass out equipment, communication and CCTV systems.

BARS Training Australia is a Nationally Recognised Training Organisation (National Provider Number 32061) comprising of a multidisciplinary team of committed, professional trainers and consultants that utilise a wide range of experience for Bouncer And Responsible Service training throughout Australia. (Check National Training Website).

The company, along with its associated business partners, aims to assist the security and hospitality industries by providing them with a range of training and consulting solutions necessary to promote and develop the skills of their staff.

BARS Training Australia offers a full range of security qualifications including Apply First Aid and is currently approved by the Queensland Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation to provide training in the approved Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Program as well as the Responsible Management of License Venues (RMLV) Course.

Our facilitation style focuses on communicating information that can be utilised in “real life” situations.  Our students graduate with an exceptional knowledge of security and hospitality practices, with the confidence in their decision-making and ability to optimise their skills.

BARS Training Australia aim to be the leaders in vocational education and training within the hospitality and security sectors, ensuring that our national competencies fully comply with the Australian Quality Framework 2013.

Refund Policy

All requests for refunds need to be made in writing and be accompanied by supporting documentation where applicable.

BARS Training Australia will make a full refund of all fees paid (including enrolment fees) should a course be discontinued or cancelled.

Should the student desire to take an alternative course with BARS Training Australia Pty Ltd, fees will be fully transferable to that course. In the event of a course for which the student was enrolled being unavailable or no acceptable alternative course is available, fees are fully refundable.

Should a student cancel an enrolment with BARS Training Australia Pty Ltd, the following conditions will apply regarding a refund of fees:

  • The enrolment fee of up to $100 is non-refundable unless otherwise stated;
  • Cancellation up to two week prior to the commencement of training, a full refund (including appropriate enrolment fee) will be given;
  • Cancellation up to one week prior to the commencement of training, a full refund (less the appropriate enrolment fee) will be given;
  • No refunds or transfer will be given for cancellations or discontinuations after course commencement date or after exclusion for unsatisfactory attendance or behaviour, except where extenuating circumstances may be found to exist*;
  • Course is considered to have commenced upon receipt of course materials or upon a student first accessing course materials online;
  • Students will have three (3) months to complete their course from this date unless extenuating circumstances exist;
  • Should a student fail to demonstrate extenuating circumstances after this three (3) month period, they may be deemed to have unsatisfactory attendance and withdrawn from the respective course.
  • Confidentiality of student information will be ensured;
  • Refunds will be paid within one (1) week of the claim being agreed.

All fees paid in advance are kept in a number 2 account (deposit account) to ensure sufficient funds are always available for refund.

* Extenuating circumstances: Should a student have to discontinue a course for legitimate reasons, such as sickness, exceptional family circumstances, a pro-rata refund will be given less a 10% administration fee.
